Raleigh, North Carolina – Shaw University will not renew the contract of Men's Basketball Head Coach Cleo Hill, Jr., school athletic officials announced today. Hill's contract expires on June 30, 2015."We thank Coach Hill for his service to the men's basketball program over the past seven years," said Athletics Director Marcus Clarke. "We wish him well in his future endeavors."
Hill guided the Bears to a 13-16 record this season, including a 6-10 mark in the CIAA. He has a 116-67 career record in seven seasons as the head coach.
Prior to being named head coach at Shaw, Hill served for five years as the men's head basketball coach at Cheyney University in Pennsylvania. A search for Hill's successor will begin immediately.
