NORFOLK, Virginia – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced that Florida A&M University has reinstated the men’s golf and men’s tennis programs and will compete in conference competition during the 2014-15 school year.

Florida A&M suspended both programs in July, 2014.

“I am pleased to announce that the men’s golf and men’s tennis programs are reinstated to full compliance and competition for the 2014-15 school year,” said D’Wayne Robinson, Florida A&M Interim Director of Athletics. “The decision to bring these programs back comes with approval of President Elmira Magnum and backed with the full support of the FAMU alumni. We look forward to competing in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference this spring and competing for a conference championship.”

“We are excited that Florida A&M will compete in both men’s golf and men’s tennis this year and look for both programs to continue its rich tradition of delivering competitive teams and providing a positive experience for their student-athletes,” said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. For more information, visit www.FAMUAthletics.com or www.MEACsports.com.
