Grambling routs Arkansas Pine Bluff in high-scoring win

GRAMBLING, Louisiana -- Grambling moved to 5-0 in the SWAC with a high-scoring 63-39 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Saturday afternoon at Eddie Robinson Stadium.

The Tigers (5-3, 5-0) led Pine Bluff early on 14-10 with the difference being two turnovers by the Golden Lions (1-5,0-4), one of which the the G-Men converted into six points on a stripe and fumble recovery by linebacker Rando Giovanni.

Getting the start for the third consecutive week, Johnathan Williams ignited Grambling's passing offense by completing two long touchdowns to Chester Rogers (44 yards) and Verlon Hunter (38 yards). Hunter and Williams already hooked up on Grambling's first drive of the game for a 73-yard score that put the Tigers up 7-3.

Pine Bluff quarterback Ben Anderson, who entered the day ranked second in the SWAC in total offense, completed 27-of-50 passes for 467 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 66 and two additional scores also threw two costly interceptions Grambling turned into points.
